For the second year in a row, Ballard has a student competing in the International Bridge Building Competition. Last year, it was Holly Tate who went to Chicago, IL. This year, it is her brother, Trent Tate.
Advancing to the International Competition is a great achievement; a once in a lifetime opportunity. Trent is currently working on the design of his bridge, and he will be starting construction later this week. He has to have his bridge completed in time for the competition on April 25, 2015.
It is estimated to cost between $1500-2000 for Trent to attend this once in a lifetime experience. If you or your employer would like to sponsor him, please call the Ballard School at 816-297-2656.
Mr. Hurst is working hard to raise the funds needed to allow Trent to compete in the International Bridge Building Contest in Portland, Oregon. He has set up a GoFundMe account to help with this:http://www.gofundme.com/qrxxb8. All of the proceeds will go toward getting him to the contest so he can test his bridge against the worlds best high school students. Any help is appreciated...small donations add up to big totals!
