Student of the Month for December 2018
The Ballard R-II School District is pleased to be working in conjunction with the Adrian Optimist Club to honor a Student of the Month for the 2018-2019 school year.
Student of the Month is selected by the staff of the Ballard R-II School District using the following criteria: attendance, attitude towards others and school, behavior, leadership, and improvement in or maintenance of good grades.
The Student of the Month for December is senior Amanda Teagarden, daughter of Keith and Joni Teagarden. Counselor, Miranda Bridges states, “Amanda is an extremely hardworking and caring individual. She is always willing to help with anything that comes up. She spends countless hours organizing the BackSnack program and is currently organizing the Ballard Food Drive.” According to technology teacher, Cheryl Murchie, “Amanda is always willing to help with anything I ask. She tries to help her fellow students when she can. I enjoy her Wacky sense of humor.” Amanda was recently chosen to be a member of PAW PRIDE (Personal Responsibility Is Delivering Encouragement), a JH/HS Student Leadership Program that works with both elementary and high school age students. Amanda also participates in FFA, Volleyball, and Softball
For Amanda’s hard work in school, she is receiving a certificate of recognition from the Adrian Optimist Club and $20.00 in Adrian Chamber of Commerce “Chamber Bucks.”
