Hello! My name is Stacy LeRosen and I am the new Agriculture Education Instructor here at Ballard R-II. I am really excited to get started this year, but first I want to share some things about me! I am originally from Adrian, MO and I attended Northwest Missouri State University where I received my Bachelor of Science in Education.  Some of my hobbies include spending time with family and friends, riding horses and competing in barrel racing competitions.  I grew up on a very small horse farm where we also raised a few sheep, rabbits and chickens.  I have a strong tie to the agricultural industry and am very passionate about sharing my knowledge of the industry with my students.

In the classroom, I like to do a lot of hands-on and discussion learning.  I think students learn best by doing and relating experiences to their personal lives.  Through Agricultural Education students are able to get involved in what they are learning and develop career skills in which they can apply in real live situations.  Agricultural Education is unique because it follows the three circle model which involves the classroom, Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE) and FFA.  I want to encourage all students to participate in their own SAE as well as be involved in the FFA in order to get most out of the program.  I look forward to getting to know you and your student.

I do follow a classroom management plan which is enforced in every class I teach.  My number one concern in the classroom is student safety. Agriculture classes often involve students working with a variety of different machinery and equipment.  I do have safety procedures in place which students are expected to follow while in the greenhouse and agricultural mechanics shop to prevent accidents.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to my first year teaching at Ballard and I can’t wait to work with you and your student.
