    The Ballard R-2 School District is pleased to be working in conjunction with the Adrian Optimist Club to honor a Student of the Month for the 2020-21 school year.

    Student of the Month is selected by the staff of the Ballard R-2 School District using the following criteria: attendance, attitude towards others and school, behavior, leadership, and improvement in or maintenance of good grades, and this month, respect.

    The Student of the Month for February is Senior Rachel Evans, the daughter of Shawn Evans.

Rachel works at Casey’s.

    Rachel plans to attend UCM. Her major is undecided.

    The Ballard staff has stated:  “Rachel consistently acts according to her values, beliefs and principles.”  “I've never heard an ounce of negativity from her.  She always has a positive attitude and works hard to make sure she completes her work on time. She is always pleasant to be around and brightens our day!” “Rachel always has a positive attitude and makes the very best out of every situation. When faced with a challenge she always looks for the positives and meets the challenge head on.”

Rachel’s advice to her classmates is “Be kind to everyone, you could save a life. #Suicide awareness.”

    For Rachel’s hard work in school, she is receiving a certificate of recognition from the Adrian Optimist Club and $20.00 in Adrian Chamber of Commerce “Chamber Bucks.”
