FREE PHYSICALS for Bates County students will be provided on Saturday, July 19, 2014 in the Outpatient Care Facility of Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler. BOYS physicals 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. and GIRLS physicals 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Mandatory Sports Participation Meetings

    Parents who have a child or children participating in High School Girls VOLLEYBALL there will be a MANDATORY athletic participation meeting on Thursday, July 24 at 7 pm in the Social Studies Room. Parents who have a child or children participating in any other activity throughout the school year including: Girls and Boys Junior High Basketball, Junior High Cheerleading, High School Girls and Boys Basketball, High School Cheerleading, and High School Baseball and Softball , will have a MANDATORY athletic participation meeting on Thursday, August 21, at 7 pm in the Social Studies Room. . . . read more

Honoring our Retirees

KARL LUCAS Mr. Lucas, Ballard teacher of  25  years is retiring. He has helped to push countless students  through school to graduation during his time here.  Over the years he has taught  5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade; 1st grade Math, 3rd and 4th grade Social Studies and Science; and finally, for the past 15 years, Kindergarten. Student of the Month May 2014

The Ballard R-II School District is pleased to be working in conjunction with the Adrian Optimist Club to honor a Student of the Month for the 2013-2014 school year.
