Elementary Artists of the Month, September 2015

Every month Ms. Wirsig will pick a young artist from each grade, K-6, to be an “Artist of the Month.” These students show artistic skill, leadership, and good behavior in the art room.

This month’s winners are:

Kindergarten: Eastin Hill– Eastin always takes her time and makes sure she does the best work she can. She always waits her turn, raises her hand to ask questions, and is excited to be in art class. Good work, Eastin! You can see her “Monet’s Water Lilies” hanging in the hall in front of Ms. Murchie’s room.

First: Kennedy Borland– Kennedy is a fantastic artist, especially when drawing. She impresses me by challenging herself to draw things that are difficult to draw. Great job, Kennedy! You can see her “Cave Art” hanging above the elementary doors.

Second: Dayne Greer– Dayne sets a good example for the rest of class. He is a leader. He works hard and does the absolute best job he can. Great work, Dayne! You can see Dayne’s “Cave Art” hanging above the elementary doors.

Third: Kamryn Beachner– Kamryn loves art and it shows in her work. She has unique ideas. Awesome job, Kamryn! You can see her totem pole artwork in between the elementary bathrooms.

Fourth: Lindy Gunter– Lindy pays attention to detail. Her art is special because she is very patient when creating it. Way to go, Lindy! You can see her totem pole artwork in between the elementary bathrooms.

Fifth: Tucker Roach– Tucker has awesome ideas as well. He comes up with something creative every time he comes to art class. He is also a  good example to others. Good job, Tucker! You will be able to see his Egyptian Sarcophagus in the hallways soon.

Sixth: Cody Bridges– Cody is very knowledgeable about art and art history. He is detail-oriented and interested in learning. He is very observant, which allows him to come up with ideas that no one else can. Great work, Cody! His Egyptian Sarcophagus will be displayed in the sixth grade hallway very soon.
